Since we opened our doors in fall 2006, Rio del Mar Elementary School’s staff, students, parents and the surrounding community have collaborated to ensure that our students move on to higher education and are empowered to reach their full potential. As one of the newest schools in the district, we offer the latest technology: smart boards, laptop carts and wireless Internet. The Rio del Mar Dolphins are encouraged to be self-motivated, independent thinkers, so we give them a multitude of academic and extracurricular activities to choose from, including Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme programs and lunchtime sports tournaments.
Principal's Message
Welcome to Rio del Mar, home of the Dolphins.
I feel very fortunate to be part of this new and beautiful campus that is rich in diversity and full of talented students and a dedicated staff. It is evident through the participation of our teachers on district level committees, as well as site leadership roles and staff development, that they are committed to providing our students with the best education.
In addition to the core curriculum of language arts, math, science and social studies, each student here at Rio del Mar has access to a beautiful library, many different forms of technology, a wonderful and expansive playground, and a caring staff who will ensure that each child receives an excellent education to empower them to be successful students throughout their lifetime.
Our goal here at Rio del Mar is to positively impact the academic achievement and behavior of all our students. We provide a nurturing environment that facilitates students’ success by providing opportunities for students to become responsible learners and fully develop the multitude of skills they will need to meet the changing needs of society.
We have many exciting activities and projects that focus on celebrating the success of our students. It is our hope that your family will continue to grow alongside us as we celebrate academic growth and encourage character development. At Rio del Mar we believe that all students can learn and we have high expectations for all of our students, so it is important to remember to motivate our students to always strive to do their best, while at the same time allowing them to enjoy the wonders of childhood.
