The Rio Lindo Rockets have launched a successful academic program since opening in 1964, maintaining strong STAR test scores and achieving recognition as a California Distinguished School in 1986. Our students enjoy the benefits of a strong PTA and many parent and community volunteers that encourage the school’s wide variety of programs. In addition to a strong academic program that includes events throughout the year, we offer numerous extracurricular activities including athletics, visual and performing arts, a science fair, a jog-a-thon, intervention courses and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme activities.
Principal's Message
The staff and I would like to invite you to be part of our school community. We know that strong partnerships between the school and the home can make a difference in the lives of our students and maximize their educational experience. Here at Rio Lindo Elementary School, our hope is that parents, grandparents, and other members of our students’ families will support their child’s education through their own involvement. We invite you to participate in our Parent Teacher Association, to volunteer and support your student at home as he or she completes homework and faces other school-related challenges.
As our school motto states, “The Sky is the Limit,” and I believe you would agree with me in saying each one of our students is a rising star.
